An individual profited close to $500,000 by predicting the removal of Nicolás Maduro just before it was publicly declared, raising questions about potential gains made from confidential information of the event.
Bets placed on the crypto-platform, a crypto-powered platform, that Nicolás Maduro would be no longer in control by the end of January rose in the period preceding former President Trump announced on January 3rd that the Venezuelan leader had been taken into custody.
A particular user, which joined the platform last month and took four positions, all on political events in Venezuela, earned over $nearly half a million from a initial bet of over $32,000.
The identity is unknown. The anonymous account had only a string of letters and numbers for identification.
Platform data shows that traders put the odds of Maduro's exit at just a low 6.5 percent in the afternoon of the prior Friday.
But these probabilities had jumped to eleven percent by shortly before midnight and skyrocketed in the early hours of Saturday, pointing to a sudden change in positions just before the official statement was made.

An official representative for Kalshi said their site "has clear rules against insider trading of any form."
